Embedded Brutalism

Embedded Brutalism looks at how nature is reclaiming the city.

Reflecting on the contrasts between the organic growth of moss and the ridged forms of brutalist architecture. This project combines the soft textures found within nature with the dramatic shapes of brutalism.

Brutalism looks at the natural finishes to materials and how to show off the materials’ inherent raw qualities. These surfaces use casting and embedding  to  bring together natural-found textures with the ideals of brutalism to create a range of tactile surfaces.
